Seattle Bride Ad! We are very proud to show our new work and style. Are thoughts were to go big or not at all, so we made it a double spread. This is the first year we have advirtised our work. We wouldn't normally since word of mouth really is the best manner in connecting with our future clients. Personal referalls have been working for us for quite sometime however this is a reinvention year for JPG. Since many Seattle photographers are showing very candid, rich, black and white images, we chose to go high color, high texture images showing a more illustrative style.

This is our world. Claire-Left, Jim Middle, Ben on the right, Katarina-far right. I'm standing on the love seat that we sometimes invite are clients to enjoy while we show them a project. The center plasma plays the slideshow. It's sort of a chef's table experience. Tasting the work in the environment from which is was created is a uniqe experience.

Morning at the Garner Home. My Girls

Big Week Ahead

Up early today again. I'm realizing that I personally can't get much done during the day with all the phone, email and questions regarding all the things going on with JGP right now. Plus mornings are perfect for designing albums.

Today Ian Howell is here to stay with us until the 1st. Ian is a world class consultant from Melbourne, Australia. Yervant introduced him to us over a year ago. What an amazing guy. After he visited us in March we implimented his plan (as much as we could-it was a huge plan) The result is our Album program, shooting schedule, and all the financial organization that took place. What a gift he was to us! We have reinvented ourselves and litterally almost doubled our business, hired 2 additional people and are producing true art now for our clients who have benifited the most by his instruction.

If you are a photographer, consider having him visit you; ian Howell howell@optusnet.com.au for more info.

Shaw Wedding Album in Process

Can't wait to get back to this one!

After a lot of editing, retouching and initial layout ideas were thrown around, we have officially started what will be an amazing album. There is no doubt that this one is coming to WPPI with us for our 1st year competing.

I LOVE this couple because they trusted our recommendation of starting a bit early so that we could unwind a bit, really enjoy the afternoon and not have a rushed photography experience. As you will see in a few of the images below, it started fun, really fun, and just got better and better. This type of photography is changing our lives. We enjoyed what we did before but now we count down the days to play with our amazing couples. I'll have an album to show you shortly.

What we're excited about!

We absolutely love our new way of approaching weddings.

2006 was a reinvention year for JGP. Drawing from the influence of the austrailians we decided to immulate their combined style. To do this we needed to change the manner in which we scheduled our day.

You may know that the manner in which Australians is very different than in the US. Ceremony's are in the afternoon w/ a large break until the reception. This leaves a lot of time take photos in a relaxing manner. The bridal party will often travel to urban environments and have a cafe latte, or glass of champaign. The idea is to relax and enjoy the day. Photography is not a task to complete, rather an enjoyable and fun part of the day.

How do we do this in the US. Well, so far only one couple has wanted to have a separation between the ceremony and reception. More to come as educate them. (even the guests love this by the way) So, any additional time allowed to photograph our clients before the wedding (beyond the 3 or so hours we require) will be our gift to our couple. We will use this time to simply relax in place that fits the couple.

The result: Everybody has a GREAT TIME, especially me! Relaxing candid photography. See above urban images.

We Love what we do!

Can you believe this! We get to play with photos all day every day. Claire, Ben, Katarina and I all agree that this is a dream. I personally would do this w/o pay. (however we sure have bills-yikes)

Anyway, we're finishing up a few albums that I am very proud of. Below is an album that really shows the new style we are creating. We're designing albums w/ clean boxes, uniform in tone that really flow. Cutting out a lot of clutter really works for our high color, urban feel.

Bigfolio Needs a booth image

Just talked to Mike Caston of bigfolio. He needs a clean image for his wppi booth. 10ft x8ft w/ room for a logo and some copy.

I was thinking about this one. It's a really simple image but eyecatching with a lot of space for their logo. Thoughts? We really love this couple, their album is just about up. click here: www.jgarneerphoto.com/bridalshow/crane

Finally... BODA BAGS!

We are so close! It's been over a year of developement Finally we have a splash page. The bags will be ready for WPPI in march!

What is BODA?
Boda is our way changing how photographers carry their gear. It holds it all. Lenses, media, spare batteries, EVERYTHING you need to shoot an event.

What does this mean? You'll never have to turn your back on your subject.
You'll never wish you had a different focal length on your camera.

How is this different?
Boda is designed for shooting not storing. Access to lenses and equipent is immediate. Where has this product been? Well....in developement.

Forward in time
